Marc Therrien is a Principal Investigator and founding member of IRIC. After obtaining a Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the Université de Montréal in 1993, followed by post-doctoral training in functional genomics at the University of California at Berkeley, he joined the Montreal Clinical Research Institute (IRCM) in 1999, and then IRIC in 2003. His research has elucidated some of the key mechanisms involved in the control of cell proliferation and whose disruption promotes cancer development. In 2024, Marc Therrien took over as Chief Executive Officer, following the end of Michel Bouvier’s mandate.
