Three IRIC projects funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) recently awarded Project Grants for the Spring 2024 competition. This program aims to support original ideas with the potential to advance basic and applied health knowledge.
Across the country, 373 research projects, representing a total investment of $325 million, have been funded. Three IRIC projects are recipients of these prestigious grants.
Congratulations to our teams!
- Vincent Archambault, Director of the Cell Cycle Regulation Research Unit, receives a five-year, $918,000 grant for his project entitled “Deciphering Mitotic Functions of Phosphoprotein Phosphatases in Drosophila”.
- Sébastien Carréno, Director of the Cellular Mechanisms of Morphogenesis during Mitosis and Cell Motility Research Unit, jointly with IRCM researcher David Hipfner, receives financial support of $956,250 over five years, for the project entitled “Long distance cell-cell communication by cytonemes”.
- Sylvain Meloche, Director of the Signalling and Cell Growth Research Unit, in collaboration with researcher Geneviève Deblois, has been awarded funding of $1,013,626 over five years for the project “Role and therapeutic potential of the atypical MAP kinase ERK3 in basal-like breast cancer progression”.
