Published on septembre 12, 2022
IRIC wishes to highlight the great generosity of the Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association, which has been supporting the work of Dr. Claude Perreault’s team for 15 years. In 2022, a donation of $10,000 was made and to date, $90,000 has been donated to the Perreault laboratory to further research into hematopoietic cell transplantation and leukemia treatment.
“We are very pleased to have supported Dr. Perreault’s laboratory for so many years. Their groundbreaking work is leading to better outcomes for bone marrow transplant patients.” – Bryan and Joanne Bedard, founders of the Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association
A Little History
The Katelyn Bedard Bone Marrow Association was founded in 2005 by Bryan and Joanne Bedard from Windsor, Ontario. After losing their young daughter, Katelyn to leukemia due to the lack of a bone marrow donor, Bryan and Joanne started the association with the goal of encouraging bone marrow transplant research across the country.
In 2007, Dr. Claude Perreault was the only Investigator in Canada working on bone marrow transplantation. For this reason, the Bedard family has decided to support his work and to follow the evolution of his promising advances in the field over the years by reiterating their commitment.
