Trang Hoang receives the prix Mentor scientifique 2021 from the Club de Recherches Cliniques du Québec

Trang Hoang, Principal Investigator at the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) and Full Professor in the Department of Pharmacology of the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal, has been awarded the prix Mentor scientifique 2021 (2021 Mentor Award) by the Club de Recherches Cliniques du Québec (CRCQ).

Presented every year since 2002, the award is given to a professor who has distinguished herself/himself through their outstanding contribution to the training of students in academic research. It underscores the devotion of investigators in fostering the next generation of scientists.

Director of the Molecular Biology Program at the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal, Trang Hoang has welcomed more than 72 students into her laboratory and has passed on her passion for research, her scientific rigour, her intellectual curiosity as well as her desire to extend the boundaries of knowledge and to make a difference in cancer research.

Recent recipient of the 2021 CSMB Jeanne Manery Fisher Award, named a Commander of the Ordre de Montréal and an Officer of the Ordre national du Québec, Trang Hoang is known internationally for her expertise in normal and leukemic stem-cell biology and for the work she has done involving acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

The 62nd Annual Meeting of the CRCQ will be held from September 29th to October 1st, 2021, and will highlight the research work carried out by students and investigators. The CRCQ has given itself the mission of promoting excellence in biomedical and health research in Quebec by supporting its scientific community and informing the public of the latest discoveries.
