Collection of medical supplies for the healthcare system
Published on April 24, 2020
Several Université de Montréal units came together recently, following an appeal from the government, to collect medical supplies. In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the purpose of the initiative is to reduce the risk of shortages in the healthcare system.
IRIC therefore joined forces with all the Faculty of Medicine research departments to gather up a certain number of supplies and was able to provide 60,000 gloves and 1,000 N95 masks to hospitals.
We are proud that the members of our community responded to this call for solidarity. We would like to extend the warmest thanks to all of the investigators and staff members who came together to carry out the collection of supplies and in particular Stéphane Pinsonneault who coordinated this effort for IRIC.
The spirit of solidarity is a valuable asset in these difficult times and we must recognize and encourage all collective efforts.
