IRIC is proud to announce that Thomas Milan has received the Merit and Social Engagement Award for international students of the Faculty of Medicine of the Université de Montréal.

The $2,000 award was bestowed upon him in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements, his commitment to the community and the human qualities that he has actively demonstrated throughout his academic career.

Thomas Milan is a Ph. D. student in the High-Throughput Genomics Research Unit operated by Brian Wilhelm. He has been President of the Institute’s student association, AÉIRIC, for the past two years. He has co-organized several events, including all three editions of the scientific outreach event “Behind the scenes of cancer research”, as well as Mental Health Awareness Week, organized for the IRIC community.
