Appointment of Mr. Richard Martin as Assistant General Director – Operations and Finance

IRIC is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Richard Martin, Director of Administration of the Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) of the Université de Montréal since 2011, to the position of Assistant General Director – Operations and Finance.
A key role for the Institute
Mr. Martin will continue the strategic and operational development of the sectors in his portfolio: human resources, finance, infrastructures, IT and communications. He is also responsible for the administrative management of the scientific core facilities, academic affairs, philanthropic development and scientific life of IRIC. His role with respect to financial management extends to the IRICoR and Oncopole entities.
Dual expertise: scientific and administrative to serve IRIC
Possessing an MBA from HEC Montréal, Mr. Martin set up an administrative management structure for project research and maturation. As a member of the Management Committee for the past 9 years, he has assisted management in the planning and carrying out of all major university and partnership files, as well as with the general operation of the Institute.
Mr. Martin also has a biochemistry degree from the Université de Montréal and a Ph.D. in Experimental Medicine from McGill University, completed at the Montreal Clinical Research Institute, where he developed expertise in the stem cell and leukemia research field. He then worked as a molecular and cell biology investigator in the pharmaceutical industry at NeuroChem for 3 years.
