Anne Marinier, Principal Investigator and Director of Medicinal Chemistry at IRIC, has been awarded the Prix d’excellence des diplômés de l’Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). This prestigious distinction was bestowed upon her on Saturday, October 26, 2019, at the official ceremony held at the Hôtel Rimouski – Centre des congrès.
The Prix d’excellence des diplômés de l’UQAR rewards the exceptional career path of its recipient and their major involvement in the Université du Québec à Rimouski community and, on a broader scale, in the province of Quebec. Having earned a B. Sc. in Chemistry, Anne Marinier becomes the nineteenth winner of this tremendous award among the UQAR’s 51,000 graduates.
The Principal Investigator at IRIC spearheaded the creation of the Institute’s Medicinal Chemistry Core Facility, now the country’s largest of its kind in a university setting. Her achievements include having contributed to the discovery of the UM171Molecule, which provides hope for blood cancer patients.
