Trang Hoang is awarded the Ordre national du Québec and the Ordre de Montréal

On June 20, 2019, Trang Hoang, Principal Investigator at IRIC, was appointed Officer of the Ordre national du Québec. The honorary decoration, awarded by Premier François Legault, is the greatest distinction handed out by the Government of Quebec, paying tribute to exceptional people who have done outstanding work for the province.
On May 17, 2019, Trang Hoang was also appointed Commander of the Ordre de Montréal, the highest rank of the city’s highest honorary award, paying tribute to exceptional people who have had a positive impact on its profile as a result of their achievements.
In 2003, Trang Hoang contributed, along with other Investigators, to founding IRIC, where she now runs the Hematopoiesis and Leukemia Research Unit. Known worldwide, Trang Hoang devotes her life to the fight against cancer. She is a pioneer in Systems Biology research and training.
Her work has led to the discovery of abnormal cells responsible for acute lymphoblastic leukemias (ALL), which represent the leading cause of death by illness of children in Canada.
