Renewal of Marc Therrien’s mandate as Scientific Director of IRIC

Following a meeting of the Executive Committee, on October 10th, the Université de Montréal confirmed the extension of Marc Therrien’s mandate as Scientific Director of IRIC for a second period of four years. Marc Therrien is a Principal Investigator at the IRIC within the Intracellular Signalling research unit and Professor, Department of Pathology and Cell Biology, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal.
As Scientific Director, he will remain in charge of IRIC’s strategic research plan as well as its scientific program. He will continue to ensure the training and supervision of scientific committees required for the Institute to operate effectively. He will oversee the recruiting of principal investigators and will see to it that they receive support throughout their academic career. He will also coordinate the development activities of the large research infrastructures and, along with the Academic Affairs team, will ensure the excellence of the training programs provided at IRIC.
Under his leadership, the IRIC’s reputation and scientific excellence, which make our institute a key player in the fight against cancer, have never stopped growing.
