Mrs. Johane Boucher-Champagne is appointed to IRIC’s Board of Directors

The Executive Committee of Université de Montréal nominated Mrs. Johane Boucher-Champagne for a three-year term as member of the Board of Directors of IRIC.

“Our Board of Directors is proud to welcome a talented member such as Mrs. Boucher-Champagne and her wealth of expertise in the field of research management,” stated Mr. Robert Tessier, Chairman of IRIC’s Board. “Her considerable input over the last few years as Chair of the Board of Directors of IRICoR, and now as a member of our Board, contributes to the informed governance of the Institute and to increasing its outreach.”

Indeed, beyond her experience as a board member and manager in the field of biopharmaceutical research, which is greatly appreciated, Mrs. Boucher-Champagne already worked to promote IRIC’s growth as Chair of the Board of Directors of IRICoR, our drug discovery centre, where she fostered the translation of discoveries made by IRIC’s investigators and associates into innovative therapies,” noted Michel Bouvier, Chief Executive Officer of IRIC. “Her expertise and passion will enrich the work of IRIC’s Board of Directors in support of our mission and in promoting the fight against cancer.”

Biographical notes
Johane Boucher-Champagne is member of the IRICoR’S Board since 2008. She currently serves as Chairperson on IRICoR Board since 2011. Experienced Senior Manager, she held a number of management position in operations, project management, marketing, business development as well as Chief Operating Officer, President and Chief Executive Officer in multinational Contract Research Organizations (CRO) for over 35 years.

Throughout her career she’s been involved in life sciences in setting up and managing laboratories conducting fundamental and applied research in academic environment and at well known international Contract Research Organizations.
Mrs. Boucher-Champagne holds a Diploma in Sciences of Administration (1996) and a Certificate in Business Management (1992) from the Hautes Études Commerciales de Montréal. Over the years, she held Director positions in a number of boards (small businesses, non for profit organizations, trade associations).

She currently serves as Chairperson on SiliCycle Inc. board as well as Chairperson of Corporation de développement de Saint-Raymond, a city sponsored organisation for the development of industrial, commercial, touristic sectors of the City; she holds Director positions in cultural and tourism regional associations. She recently served (2011-2013) as President of the Life Sciences Sector of ACCORD in the Greater Quebec Area. Over the years, she held Director positions in a number of boards (small businesses, non for profit organizations, trade associations). She is also a speaker active in various business segments and takes on mandates in mentoring entrepreneurs and managers. She is co-owner of a touristic business in gardens.

Mrs. Boucher-Champagne’s contribution and achievements have been recognized a number of times during her career.
