The Institute for Research in Immunology and Cancer (IRIC) of the Université de Montréal is proud to announce that Christina Bell has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship. Doctoral student in the Proteomics and Bioanalytical Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, her research focus is on analytical chemistry, specifically on the dynamic changes of the phagosome and lipidome following macrophage activation by proinflammatory and pyrogenic cytokines.
The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships recognize outstanding doctoral students from Canada and around the world. The Vanier scholars are selected for their exceptional leadership skills and their high standard of scholarly achievement in graduate studies in social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health.
“The benefits of the Vanier scholarships will go far beyond the three years of the individual scholarships,” said Alain Beaudet, President of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. “Many of the Vanier scholars will become this country’s next generation of university researchers and educators, improving our quality of life through their research, innovation and teaching. Those Vanier scholars who return to their home countries after their studies will help forge stronger international ties for intellectual exchange and business development.”
